4-H SKATE NIGHT was a huge success. Many of our members and parents participated, wore costumes, won prizes, and had a great time. If you didn't attend this year, be sure to plan for it next year. It's fun for the entire family. For those who did attend, it is Item U, an “Event Attended” on your PDR Form.
4-H O FFICER TRAINING was Wednesday, November 2, 6:30 to 8:30pm at Del Valle High School, 2253 5 th Street , Livermore . Sessions were presented in President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Photographer, Sargent at Arms, Historian, Reporter, and Recreation. This training evening was recommended to anyone who is a club officer or planning to be an officer in the future.
The Alameda County All Stars are planning a field day for primary and beginning 4-H members. They would like at least four older members from each club to help lead a workshop and/or game for this event. Please sign up at our CC Meeting if you would be willing to help.
CAL CONFERENCE applications are due to Carol Crossett at the county 4-H office by November 18. Be sure to include a medical form and half the fee (the county pays the other half). This conference is recommended for 7th through 9th graders.

Del Arroyo 4-H has been approved for fundraising through Albertsons Community Partners program. You can register your Albertsons Preferred Savings Card and we can earn up to 4% of all purchases. This club made a conscious decision several years ago not to do any youth fundraising (selling wrapping paper, candy bars, pies, etc.), because they seem to have so many between school, band and sports activities. This is an easy way to raise money for our club without selling anything. Please get an enrollment form at our CC Meeting for yourself, your friends and neighbors, and your extended family.

Children-to-Children Holiday Party
CHRISTMAS is also fast approaching. We will again be sponsoring the Children-to-Children Holiday Party. Last year we had over 800 attendees, many of whom have no holiday cerebration besides this party. We need donations of new, unwrapped gifts for children age 0 to 18 years. We will have at least 12 ‘Make-it and Take-it' craft tables. Donations of tape, 6” and under pine cones, mistletoe, and all size gift bags are needed. If you have pinecones or mistletoe, please let Margaret (447-6980) know immediately so we can plan for craft tables for them.
Sorting and wrapping of presents will be on Saturday, December 3, beginning at noon at Del Valle High School on 5th Street. Bring your own scissors. With enough hands we should be finished in 2 - 3 hours.
The party will be on Saturday, December 10 in the Student Union at Livermore High School. Help is needed from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Guests are scheduled to start arriving at 9:30 am. We can use your help whether you can spare an hour or the entire day. Members and adults are needed to man the craft tables, refreshments, set up and clean up, etc. We have a large number of Hispanic guests and could use some bilingual adults at the check-in tables. Please sign up at our November CC Meeting.
All donations should be brought to the November CC Meeting or delivered to Miller's, 1435 Heidelberg Drive, by December 2.
We would like each family to bring two dozen cookies to the party. You can drop them off at 1435 Heidelberg Drive through December 9 if you are unable to come to the party. Please sign up for cookie donations at the CC Meeting.
