COMMUNITY CLUB MEETING: Wednesday, December 12, 6:30 pm at LVCS,
543 Sonoma Avenue, Livermore.
We will have a Presentation Day Workshop and will make a craft
for the veterans.
Thanks
to all our members who helped with the LIVERMORE
COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER. We had members helping in every phase
and the organizers really appreciated you. Remember to keep track of what you did
and anything you donated for your PDR Form. Also, a big thanks to all who helped decorate at the LIVERMORE
VETERANS HOSPITAL and those who wrapped gifts for the UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN’S PARTY this past Saturday.
The party will be this Saturday, December 8 in the Student
Union at Livermore High School. Help is needed from 9:00 am until at
least 5:00 pm. Guests
are scheduled to start arriving at 9:30 am. We will have 12+ ‘make-it and take-it’
craft tables, a ‘wrap a present’ table, refreshments and Santa. Entertainment is
still needed for the Santa line (juggling, magic tricks, lead songs, etc.) and the sign up
will be at our CC Meeting.
We can use your help whether you can spare an hour or the entire
day! Please
wear some part of your uniform so we can distinguish between workers and guests. We would like each
family to bring 2 dozen cookies for refreshments. If you are unable to bring your
cookies to the party you can make other arrangements with the Chairs, Hunter,
Kendall or Cameron Ott 449-4535 or drop them off at
the Miller’s, 1435 Heidelberg Drive, through the 7th. All donations to the party should be
noted on the PDR Form as Community Service and work on preparations and/or the
party can be counted as Committees or Community Service.

Thanksgiving
Dinner. I
helped sort and bag canned foods. It was fun. You should help next year.
I
helped set up at the Thanksgiving dinner. I liked it. I had fun.
I was at the thanksgiving dinner. We had some good food & we had fun serving the people with the dessert cart.
I had a lot of fun helping set up the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. We had to sort the cans by type and then we had to bag them. After that we helped clean up chairs and tables. It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to do it again.
I was at
the Thanks giving 1) I eat Dinner 2) U was driving the dusurt tray.
Wrapping
for the Children’s Christmas Party. I love helping for the Party! It’s really run and
all you do is wrap presents.
You should do it sometime.
I had fun decorating the V.A. Hospital. We had lots of people this year so it didn’t take a long time. It was fun putting decorations on the ceilings and putting up trees. About an hour later we had to go to Children to Children’s wrapping presents. That was also lots of fun. My group wrapped about 5-1/2 barrels of presents. It was lots of fun and I can’t wait to do it again.
Project Leaders - Set aside some time at a meeting and
have your members write an article for this newsletter. Not only does it earn them credit on
their PDR Forms, our members like to hear what is going on in other projects. Submit articles to
Margaret by the last week of the month.
SNOW CAMP for independent (activities are
primarily self directed) high school age members will be January 18 through 20. Cost is approx.
$125.00, not including lift tickets, equipment rental, etc. Contact Tom Fraser 371-0732 if
interested. Location
is being changed from Camp Sylvester, as there were not funds to repair the
dining hall that was damaged last year.
PRESENTATION DAY will be Saturday, February 2 at Canyon
Middle School in Castro Valley. The different types of presentations
will be briefly covered at our December CC Meeting. Remember, you will need presentations
in order to earn Star Ranks.
There is still time to join our very successful presentation
project led by Rich Hunt.
All categories and on-line registration is at
alamedacounty4h.org. The full Presentation Manual can be downloaded from ca4h.org under 4H Resources (General 4H Forms section).
An updated roster was included with the email and hard copy of this newsletter. A refreshment list is included with this version of the newsletter.
