One Weekend me and my Mommy went to a chicken show. I got two chickens. One is a Blue Wheaton Bantam pullet, her name is Pixie. The second one is a Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock Bantam pullet, her name is Plymouth. Kristen, my poultry teacher taught me a lot about my chickens. I play outside with my chickens every day after school. I helped Mommy build their chicken coop. I love my chickens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi,
I’m J. Choi, and I went to CAL Conference this year. I learned a lot and I
had fun meeting new people from the counties surrounding us.
I mostly learned from the workshops
at CAL Conference, but along with that I had fun learning about what makes a
good meeting, how to incorporate ice breakers in 4-H
meetings, how to do an impromptu speech, and how to be a good leader.
The staff was also very nice, and
was never without a smile on their face, even when it was raining.
Along with the great workshops and
staff, Walker Creek Ranch is a beautiful place. It as nature displaying itself
everywhere and most of the 4-Hers were polite.
CAL Conference is also a great was
to meet 4-Hers from many different counties, such as
Yolo, Contra Costa, etc.
The cabins at Walker Creek Ranch were
great, they had comfortable mattresses and the roof kept raid from coming
inside. I had so much fun and I hope you will come to CAL Conference next year,
because you learn a lot and you have fun!
In conclusion, the CAL Conference is
doing a great job. The last thing is that Alameda is one of the biggest
counties, but only five 4-Hers went to CAL Conference this year, while other
counties had at least sixteen or more 4-Hers. We have to emphasize on telling about
CAL Conference amongst the clubs we have. See you at CAL Conference next year!
The Card Creation class is a lot of fun! We had fun making Valentine’s Cards. I can’t wait till our next class!
In the Card Creation class we made Valentine’s cards. I made 4 cards. Each is unique. It was really fun.
I had
a really nice time making Valentines Day cards! It was fun!

Tri Valley Youth Food Drive is being planned for April. Sign ups are
ongoing at our Community Club meetings. This is similar to Scouting for Food
except all food collected goes to our local food pantries. Volunteers are assigned an area based
on preference and availability; size of area is determined by the ages and
number of volunteers. Youth
volunteers only need to deliver the collection information provided to them
during the week before the food drive and collect the food and drop it at the Tri Valley Haven.
Please sign up at our CC Meeting.
NEW LEADER ORIENTATIONS are scheduled for:
Monday, February 11, 7:00pm at the
Farm Bureau, Enos Way, Livermore
Wednesday, February 13, 7:00pm at
the Jockey Clubhouse, Fairgrounds
Monday, March 10, 7:00pm at the Farm
Bureau, Enos Way, Livermore
New
leader orientation is mandatory for all adults to become certified and
you only need attend once.
Soon 4-H will adopt a ‘2
deep leadership’ requirement for all 4-H activities, including
project meetings and community service activities, therefore, I would like to
have all adults register and become certified leaders. Spouses of project leaders especially
should become leaders so that they can be the second certified adult during
project meetings held in the home. To become a leader you must complete a
registration form (get from Margaret or Lisa Ott),
complete live scan (Margaret has this form also) and attend a new leader
orientation. You
can attend a new leader orientation and complete your registration form
afterwards. Alameda
County Leader Council will reimburse you for the cost of your live scan.
