Cooking class

By H. Holt

Hi my name is Hailey. I’m in a cooking class for 4-H. I’ve been to two meetings for the Cooking class. I made pink rice crispy treats and I learned how to make grilled cheese. I also made sprits cookies, thumb print cookies, hot chocolate and publing valentine punch. I’m having fun doing it and I’m learning how to make food that I didn’t know how to make before.

My talent Show Act

By S. Holt

I was so excited for the talent show this year. So I decided to do one of my favorite things which is a magic act. So my mom bought me a magic set with a hat, wand, and a handkerchief. It was an awesome act and it was fun.

CARE PACKAGES AND COOKIES - We have a neat opportunity for our families to reach out to Iraqi families and US soldiers serving in Iraq . The brother of a friend of the Choi’s family is in the Air Force and is stationed at a hospital in Iraq . His name is Dr. Keith Morita, and he is in charge of three wards in the hospital, one of which has Iraqi women and children. The children range in age from three years to thirteen years old. Dr. Morita says that one of the saddest things about war is how it affects the children. Wouldn’t it be great to provide a little sunshine to them while in the hospital?

J. & M. Choi will be coordinating a care package to be sent to the hospital. Outlined below are some ways that your family could participate. The items, including cookies, will be collected at the March CC Meeting, or can be left in a box at the Choi’s house, 872 Cindy Lane, Livermore.

Suggestions for participation:

Generally, it has been taking about a week to ten days for packages to arrive in Iraq . Remember to take credit for 4-H Citizenship/Community Service on the PDR Form.
