Reminder for 4-H

Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that our next General Meeting is Tuesday February 10, 2008 at 7pm.  We are planning to have a guest speaker at this month's meeting, who will speak to us about brain development research using MRI.  It should be interesting.
See you then,

Pigeons
My name is Althea and I have too many pigeons!  My son started "collecting" them several years ago and has grown tired of them (he is 17 now).
We were hoping someone would be interested.

Puppy for sale
I'm using this space to see if any 4 H family is interested in adopting a Siberian huskey mix puppy. According to my daughter Kelsey, it is the cutest puppy on the planet. She is chocolate with cream huskey markings on the face, cream paws and tummy and playful with stuffed toys.
If you would like more information about her and are seriously looking for a puppy, email me by Tuesday this week. I'm teaching so I'll return any calls after school.  Email me at Wendysue7"at"yahoo.com, not at this address. I'll call you back.

............. Dear 4H member, leader or parent:
Will you be planning a trip before Sept. 11th 2009?
We have an unused credit of $149 from Southwest Airlines from airfare for a 4H conference that we could not attend. We are hoping someone can use this credit toward their ticket and pay us back.

Southwest will transfer this credit to anyone else for a future airline ticket anytime until September 11th, 2009.
Some of these trips are reimbursed by the 4H office, so you would still be able to be reimbursed as usual.
I hope someone can help us out.
Many thanks......

Alpacas I have 2 sweet young male alpacas to rehome. If you know anyone who might be interested please let me know. If I can find a good home they are free. They are our pets and we are not zoned for them. I would rather find them a new home now rather than later. We are in Leucadia.

Rooster

I am looking for a home for a friendly black rooster.  Any chance of anyone in the 4H network being interested?

Please go to their website PVRA to get the show premium.  The cost is only $20 to show all day!!  They have English flat classes, Western flat classes, and in the afternoon, you may choose either jumping or Gymkhana classes.  This is a great show to get ready for Del Mar.  Keep track of your placings, how many people you were competing against etc..  This will be a qualifying show for Del Mar if the rules stay the same as last year.
The grounds are fun and you can even practice a cross country course!
Big Beautiful Ribbons to 10th Place!!!
Lots of volunteer opportunities to help give out ribbons, time classes, open and close the arena gate!
Get there early as classes close on time!
They have a snack bar and usually a BBQ for lunch with very reasonable prices.

Did you know…

You can earn credit for your Record Book by writing a news article?  We need your articles about your project or a 4-H event.  You’ll receive Communication Skills Credit!  Contact Kelly Sheldon (760) 505-8573 or send email to teak2donna@yahoo.com.

Speaking of Record Books…

It’s never too early to start!  Avoid that last minute crunch to remember and write down everything you do this year.  Print a copy of the Record Book forms and start jotting down notes each time you attend an activity, go to a meeting, volunteer, etc.
