Volunteers: The Heart of 4-H

• More than 400 amazing adults serve as 4-H volunteers in San Luis Obispo County. Thanks to their time and dedication, SLO County 4-H is able to provide excellent opportunities to the 1500 youth members in our community.

• Volunteers work with youth to help them develop citizenship, leadership and life skills, while having FUN in a social and educational environment. A volunteer may teach a specifc project related to their special skills or talents, or they may choose to help out in other ways. Volunteer training and curricula are available at no cost through the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE).

• 4-H is so much more than animals and agriculture. Today's 4-H program involves a wide variety of interesting projects, from aerospace to zoology and everything in-between! If you have a special skill or talent that you would like to share with 4-H youth in your community, contact the 4-H office at (805) 781-5943, or email dharris@co.slo.ca.us.
