4-H Outreach a Huge
Success !
Wow...what
a wonderful job our parents and kids have done in
getting the
word out about 4-H! In
addition to the outreach and advertising done for our
very busy October 15th Open
House (thank you Jane, Vicki, & Ellen Gatt for a job
well done!)
members greeted the public
and wowed the kids with rabbits, crafts and jewelry
projects
at the HUGE SSF "Day in the
Park" in September and the San Bruno "Autumn Fest" in
October. Thank you to the
O'Connells, the Ingersolls, the Gilberts, the McCanns,
the Hashas,
the Vargas, Jane Stahl,
Mitchell Anderegg, and Rosalind Castillo for being such
great representatives of 4-H !
Superstars on T.V.
!
If you didn't get a chance
to catch Anna Vargas, Mitchell Anderegg, Rosalind
Castillo,
Jennifer O'Connell, or
Hannah Ingersoll on San Bruno Cable T.V. doing a very
informative
(and funny) rendition of
what 4-H means to them during the Oct.10th San Bruno
City Council Meeting,
then you might have caught
Hanna, Mitchell, Pat Bohm or Jane Stahl during the T.V.
broadcast
of the SSF City Council
Meeting on November 4th. Never fear...you still may
have an opportunity to see our famous 4-H faces on
San Bruno
Cable Channel 11 soon ! A terrific segment was filmed
by Steve Firpo at our farm in October !
Watch for listings or
showings to be aired adjacent to other civic events,
like Cap Sports.
No
autographs...please!
Have my people call your
people and we'll do lunch!
(p.s. Thank you, Irene
O'Connell, and the San Bruno City Council for declaring
October "4-H Month !
Thank you, Jane Stahl, for
your promotion of 4-H !)
Wreath Making
Workshop a Jolly Good Time !
Our
annual"Wreath Making Workshop" on Saturday,
December 9th
at the
farm
was a jolly good time and a
huge success ! The $104.00 raised helped to
recoup our expenses. Lowes,
Home Depot, and the San bruno Parks Department were
great
in sharing their greenery
with us. Thank you, also, to the Ogawa, O'Connell,
Bohm, Hasha,
and Stahl families for
donating great ribbons,
greenery, and decorations.!
All fresh greenery, holly
berries, frames, and Christmas ribbons
were provided for only $3.00
per wreath.
Thanks, also, to all the 4-H
members who signed up to help out!
Be sure to include this
event in your record book;
& gardening project members
can count this event as a
project meeting !
Annual Christmas
Party Report
On
Wednesday, December 13th,
our club held our annual
Christmas Party at
Belle Air School.
Families brought delicious "pot
luck" side
dishes, beverages, or deserts to share.
Our club provided the
Pizzas,
plates, & utensils.
4-H Youth members got a
chance to legally "steal" presents as they participated
in
a fun and frantic gift
exchange. A good time was had by all!
"Peter Pan"
,presented by the 4-H Players...Practically Perfect In
Every Way!
On December 13th, the drama
project presented a special
selection from "Peter Pan",
from the original play by J.M. Barrie, before a standing
room audience
of Belle Air students, 4-H
members, family and friends.
The reviews are in... and
it's "OUTSTANDING!"
A great job was done by all
! Tears even welled in the corners of mother's eyes as
they
witnessed their little
darlings transformed into pirates, lost boys, and flying
angels.
The only problem now is that
we've left them wanting more. Well everyone will get a
second chance as we
perform, once again, during
the February 3rd County Presentation Day competition in
San Mateo.
Family and friends are
welcome to come see this encore presentation.
BREAK ANOTHER LEG, you
wonderful cast! I'm so very proud of you all!

Poinsettia Sale
Fundraiser
Thank You to all the members
who took part in out
Poinsettia sale fundraiser.
Special thanks go to Rose and Vicki Hasha
for coordinating this event
and distributing the beautiful plants.
You guys bloom brightly
in
our eyes!
New
Resident at the Farm
Been down to the farm lately
to see our new resident?
If not, I'll give you a
hint.
It's furry, black, has four
legs, and big brown eyes.
Don't have a guess? Then
ask any of Gary's beef project members
for more clues. They'll
"steer" you in the right direction.
New
Parent and Youth Member Orientation Meeting
Still in a fog regarding
what 4-H is all about?
Then plan on attending our
New Member Orientation on
Sunday, January 28th, at
2:00 at the farm (date subject to change).
We'll try and unravel the
mysteries of keeping a record book,
entering crafts and animals
at the county fair, and other
various assundry things.
Both parents and youth are invited
to attend ("seasoned"
members welcome, too!)
More info to come at the
General Meeting.
