4-H Leadership Meeting

MINUTES

1. Orientation
   1. Mass Flyer to schools
        Shelly M-L will coordinate with Jeanine for printing and distribution.
        Schools to target: SC elementary district, SC charter, St Charles, Clifford
       
   2. General Meeting: Sept 23 Clifford School, Redwood City
      1. project displays, name tags
         Ann Williams will coordinate. Projects so far include:
         1. Bees
         2. Cavies
         3. Goats
         4. Electricity
         5. Cooking
         6. Quilts
      2. Club info flyer
   3. All other meetings: 3rd Tuesday of month
      Except for February, which will be the 4th Tuesday, Feb 24
   4. Year calendar
      Cathie will develop calender for year. This will be included in newsletter.
   5. New Parent Meeting: separate from general:
      9/30 was date agreed upon. We will offer Babysitting by teen leader. Cathie to arrange library and create flyer for general meeting.
   6. Mandatory Parent Meeting 11/12
      Cathie and Janae to coordinate.
2. Junior/Teen Leader Meetings: Cathie, Jeanine/Janae 2nd Monday of month?
   Cathie to poll teens for best night. First meeting will be just the exuctive board.
    
3. Project Leader Coordinator: Ann Williams
   1. Recruitment
   2. Orientation/Materials
      Ann will have meeting with new leaders to make sure they feel comfortable.
   
    
4. Registration: Ann Smith, Sandra Bernhard

   2. County Registration: Sat Oct 25
      Ann is transitioning the position to Sandra. County fees went up. We also include price of Pen Pride tickets in fee. We will charge 40$/member. Leaders are free.
   
    
5. Special Event Coordinators
   1. Record Books: Melissa Lohr: article in newsletter
   2. Demonstrations: Mark Zafferano??
   3. Hometown Days Parade: Shelly M-L and Janae to coordinate
   4. Hometown Days Petting Zoo: Jeanine/Jeff
   5. Hometown Days Raffle: Judy Grimsby
   6. Hometown Days Booth: Cookies, Lemonade: Sandra B.
   7. Fair Coordinator: We will table this discussion until January steering mtg.
      1. Pen Pride Tickets: included with yearly fees

6. Farm Boss: Jeff is willing to continue until we can get a new farm boss. We need to be thinking about his replacement.
   1. Animal Projects Coordinator: We discussed this, but there was no clear decision made. Maybe the Fair Barn coordinator is the same person?? This person would be under Jeff, but more aware of the actual project activities that happen at our farm.
   2. Farm Clean Up: First one is October 4. Jeanine to get flyer, Cathie to print and distribute at general meeting.
   3. Inventory
   4. Barn Renovation: Will discuss at January steering.
   
    
7. Newsletter Editor: Jeanine agreed to continue until we get a replacement. Cathie to discuss at first general meeting.
    
8. Website Coordinator: Sandra thought that Sherry King had developed a template and was willing to launch it, then pass on maintenance to someone else. Sandra to f/u with Sherry.
    
9. County Involvement
   1. County Council every other month: Sept, Nov, Jan, March, May: Janae/Cathie & Teen Leader (Amanda)
   2. Ag Steering committee: Sept 19 : Jeff and/or Judy will go
   3. Lifeskills & Hobbies committee: Martha Moore and Judy Grimsby
   4. Animal Science Events Committee: Janae will attend
