Santa Clara County 4-H Club Council Executive Board meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Vicky Bosworth at 7:37 pm.

Treasurer Report - Hans Toensfeldt
We finally got the bill (and paid it) for Jones Gulch camp from 1999 County 4-H Camp.

Secretary Report - Gary Lang
Received thank you notes from Annalisa Clarke and Mary Ellen Edes for their scholarships from 4-H County Council.

President Report - Vicky Bosworth

Large Animal - Bob Towle
Large Animal Field Day
Walk-through of Pursch park to verify prior damage of facilities has yet to occur. Bob went over final plans for Large Animal Field Day.

Los Gatos 4-H will be preparing food (in the approved kitchen), and will be selling food.

Discussion of facility rental fee, and issues of insurance liability.

Small Animal - John Haggerty
Small Animal Field Day is set for May 4. 

Fashion Review - Carol Jaques

Key Leader - Lonnie Toensfeldt
Exchange may be moving to August 12. In recent weeks, other states (other than Montana) have shown a great deal of interest in Exchange
Overview of Policy activities at State level
Enrollment Form may be changing


CE Office - Fe Moncloa
Need to have ANR graphic and "fine print" on all flyers and distributed materials.
Rucker is not following the rules in the enrollment of their club.
Fe has turned down the state job that she was offered. In other words, she will be staying with us here in Santa Clara County as our 4-H Youth Advisor.

Club Closures - We (the council) need to get the assets of the closing clubs before they close down per our constitution and by laws.

Discussion - It's a hard job to be a community club leader. Lonnie gave the position of the policy committee.

Awards - Jim Buckley will meet with Vicky soon to discuss the Awards committee and Fair awards.

Camp - Dan Chitwood and Kevin Wentzel
First meeting of the Camp Staff happened.
Camp Fees (from Santa Cruz county) have gone up, so the fee to our members will be going up this year.

All Stars - Carol Jaques and John Haggerty
Planet Granite event was a Hi 4-H and All Star recruiting event. It went well.

Sr. record book workshop is next event -> published in Timely Topics.

All Star wannabe workshop will be May 14, before the next council meeting

June 8 All Star judging
June 21 banquet for the new All-Stars

Interview Workshop by Vicky at 7:15 here on the 5th Tuesday at Board Room.

Unfinished Business
Storage Container space can be confirmed here at the Fairgrounds. Pricing for container is still an issue.

Club signups for working the Food Booth at Fair are nearly full. Check with Ronne.

Nominating committee will be formed at next Council meeting. Officers up for election will be President, Recording Secretary and Treasurer. Project Area Coordinators up for election will be Small Animal Science, Family and Consumer Science and Plant and Resource Science.
