president's report
Discussion items tonight:
-health issues that affect us here in SCC ->
Dan Chitwood is in very bad shape. He has given SCC 4-H for many years. Ronda R.
was in to visit today to deliver the Leadership Overnight video tape, cards and
pictures. Deborah L visited last week, also. Motion to establish a Dan Chitwood
Scholarship account passed unanimously.
Lonnie T had surgery last Thursday, and it went well. Radiation and/or
chemotherapy will be coming up.
-30% funding reduction in Cooperative Extension budget -> what this means to SCC
4-H: One approach is to have 4-H members/leaders contact their state legislator
to tell them how much the 4-H program means to them. Have the members send their
record book 4-H story as an example of the effect that 4-H has had on them.
-(welcome back to Fe)
Fe is going on a 1 yr. sabbatical, from 1 Aug 2003 to 31 July 2004. she will be
at YLS on 7 Aug. In her absence, she will be designating some volunteers to
handle some of her activities through the year. April 2004 the CE will be moving
to Burger Drive.
-Reports
-Food Booth/Awards Chair -> there are three people who are willing to be on the
committee for food booth. No awards chairperson yet, but there is still hope
that someone will step forward.
