Allstars Community service and social activities. Ran leadership overnight.
President's report: Five youth chosen as the county ambassadors for this year. Mason Hill, Heather Wilson, Rachel Teagle, John Seals, Chris Savage. Advisors are Carol Jaques and John Haggerty.
Vicky passed out a sheet of youth and adults going to state leadership conference. Vicky arranged a meeting for July 23 for the attendees.
Goal Setting: Vicky wants to set a couple of goals for the county council for this year. We will bring it up at the September meeting.
Visibility - Margo suggested that we make (4-H Member Lives Here) signs available at time of registration. Dan brought up the issue of highway signs. Lonnie suggest getting 4-H on chamber of commerce signs in various communities. Ronne suggested an adopt a highway program. Kevin suggested an adopt a park.
Vice President: Dan passed out a signup sheet for clubs to volunteer for refreshments at county council meetings.
Elections: VP - Dan, Recording Secretary - Gary Lang, Engineering - Kevin, Large Animal - Bob Towle, Health and Leasure Science - no candidate. Vicky called for nominations from the floor. John moved that we accept these candidates. Dan seconded. Motion approved.
Share the Fun: Erica King announced a skit contest where she would like clubs in the county to bring a skit. The theme this year is cartoons. The event is Friday, September 14 7:30 to 9 at Hyde Jr. High. Fliers will go out in the community leader packet. Contact Erica and Christina Baldwin.
Youth Advisor: Fe needs to know immediately when clubs are doing enrollment. The state is requiring full enrollment forms this year. Fe wants to be a signer on all club bank accounts. Fe is sponsoring leaders who have never attended the State Leaders Forum again this year. She has full scholarships available for these members.
The office has year pins for members. Clubs need to make pin orders to the office. We should send thank you notes to the Leavy foundation for donating the pins.
Fe has requested a scanner and software for running surveys.
Officers training in Morgan Hill on Saturday, August 25 from 10-12 especially for south county officers. It will be in the meeting room at the commonwealth bank. North county date not set yet.
Large Animals: Everyone needs to arrange their animal purchases this year for a summer fair. There will be a meeting at 6:30 before the September council meeting to plan a large animal field day.
Small Animals: Medalist testing has been scheduled for August 4. Check with Tom and Colleen.
Social Science: County focus was held on June 26 and 27. Toured various facilities in the county. Radio station tour was really great. They saw all aspects of the station operation. Highlight at the hospital was seeing how xrays are viewed on a computer screen instead of by hand. Visited NASA in the afternoon.
Engineering Science: County web site will move to a paid host. The "scc4h.org" address will continue to work and should be the only address used.
Entomology There is a large entomology project. There were a large number of entomology record books this year. Mason Hill will be youth chair for entomology.
Camp: Camp staff is doing well. Clover camp will be at camp this year.
Key Leader: Lonnie apologized for the Allstar mistake in TT. This was the first month of transferring the TT to Sibby. Lonnie wrote the article and Sibby composed it. By November the transition will be complete. For now, continue to send articles to Lonnie.
Community club leaders training is Saturday, September 15. Everyone must fill out the enrollment form this year. There is a new blanket release form that all members and leaders must sign.
Lonnie is part of the state policy committee
This year the fees will be $9 for members, $6.50 for leaders, and $2.50 additional for horse project.
The fair will be moved back to August next year. The grandstand will be demolished this summer. The fair is looking for new ways to get people to come to the fair.
North county officers training and leader training will be in November.
