Conscious choices - "Who moved the cheese?"  We in 4-H need to find the "moved cheese."  The fair is different, but we can do it! And we can make a difference.

4-H bags were given to two new community leaders, Kim McPherson of San Martin, and Jennifer Smith of Coyote Crest.

4-H bags were also given to Deborah Lang, John Haggerty, Dan Chitwood and Lonnie Toensfeldt.

- Clover Foundation Scholarship Award - $500 doubled to $1000 this year.  The award was presented by David Peck, President of the Clover Foundation, to Heather Wilson. She is going to Cal Poly at SLO in a few weeks.

-Jr. Stills -> Wendi Hill: Receiving will be on July 20th.  Some judging will be on 21st of July  (the morning of the 4-H County picnic) Some judging will be delayed till the entries have arrived (fresh foods, etc.)

- Entomology -> Wendi will be organizing a workshop weekend in the spring.  Also will be organizing an entomology camp for next summer.  Another Bioblitz is being contemplated for the fall of this year.

-Small Animal -> John Haggerty solicited help from leaders in the county to have each of the small animal chairs be shared with two people, thus giving time for the newer person to gain experience while overlapping with the more experienced person and to share the responsibility.  Contact John if you are interested in any of the Small Animal chairmanships.

-Large Animal -> Bob Towle: July 21st is the large animal meeting.  Final logistics issues will be discussed before arrival of animals to the fairgrounds.

-Awards -> Vicky Bosworth: Fair Award Changes list.  Plaques, medals for the hat, and buckles for Jr. Stills.  There are many other changes. Check the article in the TT for July.

-CE office -> enrollment procedures are being split in time.  Article in July TT explains the changes.

- New Leader Training will be scheduled in early part of the fall.

--County record book judging: 9 books were sent on to Sectional judging.  About 50 books were judged.

--Mason Hill was introduced as one of the new State Ambassadors. Mason applied while in Santa Clara County, but will be serving as a South Central Section representative.

-County Picnic July 21 at the Fairgrounds: See article in the TT.

-Fair Food Booth:  Rebecca Wentzel will be helping at Fair Food Booth. July 11 at 7 pm for inventory and initial opening.  (see Kevin's email for details)

-Fair Information booth - running two days (Friday and Saturday) due to lack of volunteers.  Staffed by Marketing Project, but hopefully all clubs will be represented.  One table will be for general public, and one table for other 4-Hers. If you would like to volunteer for the Information Booth, contact Tim Oey or Margo Lang.  Time at the Information booth counts in your Record Book!

Burrell Leonard Estate money: details have yet to be worked out with the UC, which holds the money in trust.
