President Vicky Bosworth called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
The Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge were led by County All-Stars Heather Welch and Sarah Pence, and State Ambasador Lora Carey. The other County All stars are Julisia Banach, Aaron Teagle, Michael Scott, and Evan Jaques. The other county members who were selected as State Ambassadors are Julisia Banach and Rachel Teagle.

8 or 9 county record books go on to NC sectional judging. Some one needs to volunteer to take the books up. Vicky is putting out a plea for a volunteer.
State budget issues - please fax letters to the members of the budget committee to keep the UC line item that has to do with 4-H.
An email will be sent out to this effect.

-SLC orientation meeting- no date set yet.
Unfinished Business:
-Nominating com. has not yet met -> elections are put off until next council meeting.
-Marketing report
Murlin Lee has volunteered to be Marketing Project Leader and PR Chair for SCC 4-H. There will be a 4-H information booth at fair, staffed by Marketing project members along with Tim Oey.
-Small Animal -> meeting planned before the fair, probably this Friday night. Avian Bowl questions left unanswered.
-Key Leader -> fall orientation for new leaders. No TT for August, so look for details early in September.
-Camp -> got the menu plan for camp from Marcus.

email to be sent out to request interested project leaders to contact Vicky to schedule a shift or more.
--set-up 19th is the pre-work weekend for setup. The 26th is the major cleaning and disinfect the floor, walls and refirdgerators. 27th at 7 PM is the designated food booth training. Monday is the second training day. MUST attend one or the other of these orientations.
If you bring in items for judging please plan on helping set up at the Stills building.

New Business
-Asilomar 2003 council scholarships?
We may not have enough money to send anyone. John H. moved that the grants committee look into 4 half scholarships for first time attendees at Asilomar. Marcus seconded, motion passed.
Dan Chitwood Memorial Fund -> As a character trait that Dan exemplified, three awards will be given out at county 4-H camp to campers who best exhibit "inclusiveness" in their camping experience. One $50 and two $25 scholarships will be given out at camp, funded by the Dan Chitwood Memorial Fund.
