FAIR DISCUSSIONS:

- Food Booth
No golf cart this year
Foob Booth training vs. Food Safety Training - Fe: At any event, at all times, at least two people must have had the Food Safety Training.
Food Booth training is how to operate the booth, and includes food safety. Hand washing, gloves, how to assemble a hamberger, how to run the register, etc.
No dates yet for food booth training - will have them soon.

Food booth opening time will be 7:30 am on Tuesday thru Sunday, since coffee and doughnuts will be sold during pre-lunchtime hours. Closing will be at 11 pm.

Lonnie volunteered to write article for July TT about Food Booth Training and Food Safety Training.

Kevin will come up with list of things that we need to know about Food Booth for July council meeting

- Jr. Stills
need workers, judges
List of names gathered at Council and at the club visitations this spring of people willing to work on Stills and Fair.
Someone needs to be in charge of coordinating these judges.
Do we want to do judging while we are receiving or will judging be done in a block with kids in attendance? Consensus seems to be for the judging seperate from receiving.
Judges need to be sheilded from parents wrath about their kid's award.

-Awards
one awards nite vs. two -> consensus was for one night
trophies vs. medals -> everyone seems to want medals instead of trophies
buckles -> still have the option of bring buckles to award at Award's night.
Discussion ranged over placques, medals, trophies, certificates, and size of placques, trophies, etc.
Issue of past sponsors -> A lot of good ideas. One came thru clearly -> don't "put off" past sponsors; encourage them to continue with their sponsorship.

FFA question -> FFA will present the majority of their trophies at ringside, but will need to have their own small ceramony for the remainder of the awards.

An announcement of awards and categories will be published in TT.

BURREL LEONARD MONEY
money came in from the estate of BL as an initial $5K interest. $85K will be set up as endowment fund. All will be controlled by UC, but it will be explicitly earmarked for SCC 4-H Youth Develpment Program.
Ideas about how to distribute any money that comes into our control. Scholarships, grants, ideas on how to fund new projects.
How to be adaptable to the future? We need to maintain flexibility in how we request the money.
Council to establish a committee to work with Fe to come up with 3 plans as how to work with the UC to get the money, and how to best benefit the 4-H Youth Development Program.
Kevin Wentzel, Hans Toensfeldt (as chairperson), Deborah Lang, John Haggerty, Ronda Rastler, Mark Teagle, and Fe Moncloa are the committee members. The committee report should be Exec board meeting in August.

9:10 ANY OTHER PRESSING BUSINESS
Fe had dates for New Leader Certification meetings in the Fall.
Do we want to try a different fund raiser, like selling the entertainment book? No.
Yvette Goldman is leaving. Two new people have been identified for her club.
Kevin is going to pass the baton on Pleasant Acres, and has identified three to take over.
5 sponsorships from County Extension office for Asilomar's State Leaders Forum left.
Youth Leadership Summit -> may have sponsorships still available
Leadership Program cirriculum is done. Fe wants volunteers from the county to try it out on a pilot program basis.
Club enrollment will be changing. No details yet.

Lonnie T. -> Carol M. has a new insurance provider identified. Will be a single fee - no adder for horse.

Picnic -> Ronda R. is getting flyers printed.
Motion to authorize up to $1000 for the Picnic committee. Seconded and passed.

Bob T. -> Any Pictures out there from Prush Park Large Animal Field Day? Please get copies to Bob T.
Also, now that the paperwork is pushed through, it should be easier for other 4-H activities to use the park.

John H. -> All star banquet/selection announcement will be June 21 at Westhope. If interested in attending the catered event, contact John Haggerty.
