President Vicky Bosworth called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
The Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge were led by County All-Stars

-president's report
The Power of One -> Positive peaceful place.
Make decisions in the now not because of what went before, but because of what will be best for our children and for our clubs.

-NC Sectional Gold medal winners from Los Gatos 4-H, Erica King and Nina Frazier, who will be going on to State Presentation Day, gave their presentation on appropriate conversation.

-Marketing Report
Get 4-H out and know in our county. Information booths will be located in the Stills building and near the livestock area at the Fair. Need volunteers to help man the booths during the three days that the fair is open to the public.

-All Star report
April 27, 2002 countywide workshop for senior record book. Given instruction and shown examples as to how it can be done. Barbeque was held. 5 or 6 showed up. 

All star information session held immediately before this meeting. Topics included what to expect out of being an All Star.

Judging for 2002-2003 All Stars will be June 8, maybe at Carol Jaque's house.
Banquet recognizing the new All Stars is scheduled for June 21, evening time, maybe at Westhope. The All Star team is inviting all of Council and previous All Stars, and any 4-H family.

-Small animal
Field Day -> Went well. A lot of drop-in "public" because rec center is right near ball fields where games were in progress. 

-Bio Blitz was last weekend. About 80 people came. Great success. Look for article and picture in TT.

-Large animal
Field Day -> 120 participants. Hopefully do it again next year. Not many non-4-H/FFA there. Working with FFA members went well. Need more publicity prior to event next year.

-Family and consumer science
Fashion Revu and Favorite Foods Day went well. about 5 participants each.

-Leisure science

-Engineering
A good server (computer) was donated to State computer corps for hosting county websites. It may take a year before it is on line though.

-Camp
apps are on the web as of the this afternoon. Due June 15. Fee is now $100. Clover Camp will be the Tuesday of camp (one day) for $20. 

-State 4-H meeting
New by-laws and constitution were ratified for the state, and this will supercede the sectional constitution and by-laws. They will be posted soon.

-CE office

-Key leader
Exchange has been canceled for this year. Only 8 kids were willing to get involved and dates could not be worked out.

State policy board -> enrollment forms are being changed. Other changes are in the works also.

FMC board -> exhibits book now on line. End of June is Admission is free, parking is not, credentials are free. House of Blues is still moving forward, but behind schedule.

-Timely Topics calendar issue -> June is pretty thin this month. 

-Sara Leisgang is soliciting support from council for travel to the National Poultry Judging contest. 
John H moved and Dan C seconded that we give what we can give to subsidize Sara's costs. Motion was passed to give Sara $100 from the county.

-Old business
-County Picnic day -> One grill may not be big enough for all clubs. Council will supply paper products and ice tea/lemon aide for all. Games and races. More to come.... Watch for article in TT.

-Nominating committee: Juanita Mah, Wendi Hill, John Haggerty, Shilo Sataran.
Positions that are up for elections this year are: President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Small Animal Science Coordinator, Family and Consumer Science Coordinator, Plant and Resource Science Coordinator.

-Fair -> issues with the rules listed on the web. The Fair would like to have Club-wide entries and enrollment to the fair.

-food booth -> everyone who works in the food booth will have to be trained and certified. All days are accounted for. 

-Storage Unit -> we can get space for a storage unit, but no pricing is yet available for a unit.

-New Business
