Called to order by Vicky B at 7:17 pm.
Letter from Julisia & Margo thanking for the monies from Council to send them to WRLF04 so that they could present the Teen Dating Violence session.
Letter from Katlyn L to help support her chaperone to the Washington focus. Motion to support in the amount of $200 was made by Lonnie T., seconded by Deborah L. Discussion about who the chaperone is - she is known to our president, Vicky B. Cost of the chaperone's trip is $1975. There are 3 youth that will be chaperoned, 2 from Lake, one from SCC. Motion carried.

"If you think you are too small to make a difference, then you haven't been in bed with a mosquito."

Budget stuff:
Meeting with Don Gauge in south county. Supervisor Gauge said that the county would try to come up with the money to continue the UCCE. Supervisor Gauge said they needed 2 weeks to try and work out a solution. No word yet, but today is the end of the 2 weeks.

Assemblymember Rebecca Cohn's office wants a letter from county council requesting support for the UCCE. Also, wants a list of "talking points" which would be based on Hans' history.

Also, Deborah L got a call from the assembly member from district (Linnbrook district) and they want to get involved. In trying to get a press release out, Deborah L contacted Pamela Kan Rice about a press release for the Domestic Violence assembly. In the course of the conversation, Deborah requested some help from the state office to help with the budget crisis here in SCC.

April 24th is date for All County 4-H Visibility Day.

May meeting for the County supervisors meeting.

Petting Zoo at Fair would be near the animal tents. Fee would be $300. with the application, then another $200 before the Fair. We made about $2000 last time we did the petting zoo, but it was a week long fair. Motion to pay the $300 app fee was seconded and passed.

Fair book is out (at least on line).
$10 to park, admission is free.

Discussion on poultry rules for the Fair -> market animals are going to be required to have a pre-fair inspection to assure they meet “Market Standards.”

Small Animal Field day - very discouraging participation so far. May 1 is date. Will need to find a new place to have it next year: Lyons are not going to have that building after June.

Letter to Rebecca Cohn by council exec board:

Large Animal field day - UC got all their input in on time -> liability insurance forms, etc.
Hilltop 4-H will be doing the food booth at the event. 10am to 3pm at Prucsh Park. Market goat members should be there, since this will be the first year for that category.

Key Leader report -> Coyote Crest meeting: Very positive evening. Adult - youth partnership focus.

Discussion about raising assessments for Clubs based on membership. We have been close to deficit spending because of increased costs that have been incurred recently, along with the loss of the Food Booth income over the past few years. Lonnie T moved to propose to council an increase in the assessment per member and adult volunteers for this coming year. The amount assessed per club per member and adult leader will be raised to $15. This will be proposed to full Council in May.

Shelby will create a template for a Contract with members who ask for funding to help defray their costs. They need to sign up to bring back to county some of the knowledge they gained, along with an action plan as to how to disseminate the information.

Memorial Scholarship for graduates from 2003: John H. moved to award Jordan Lang with $500 for this scholarship. Seconded and passed with two abstentions.

Memorial Scholarship for 2004 graduates: Vicky will be putting an article in the upcoming TT.
