Attending: Vicky B, Shelby J, Deborah L, Hans T, Lonnie T, Jenel Vinzce, Bob T

Called to order by Vicky at 7:25 pm.

Gary Lang is absent so Jenel Vincze will take the minutes

Meeting started by a chorus of Happy Birthday to Hans and a piece of chocolate pie for each in attendance

Vicki:  A new meeting room is being proposed for Board and Council meetings due to lack of heat and attendance.  We will use Art’s office for Board meetings but will need to discuss other locations for Council meetings.  The Turf Club at the fairgrounds is first choice.  Centrally located in the county but may also need to look at going back to Berger Drive or possibly The Grange in south county.  We will know before the next meeting where the new location is to be.  Also, next month’s Council meeting will include an excerpt from the movie “Green Promise” being brought by Lonnie T.
Congrats to John Haggerty.  Daughter had her baby and 1st grandson for John.

Deborah:  W.R.L.F. Update:  Location to be Sacramento in 2005.  There is a possibility of help from Council for fees.  Great opportunity for youth to come for the day on Saturday and help with the Flag Salute; also encourage youth to come for the day to CalExpo.  Great Community Service opportunity for any club.

Vicki: Makes note that we gave no scholarships in 2003 and that there are monies available to use.  Vicki will put an article in the TT for any interested college freshman to submit a “resume” of their 4-H history to the council.  We also need to send a “Thank You” for the Kuhn family for their annual contribution.  It was decided that we would inform them on its allocation.  Hans will get contact information to Jenel for that note.

Bob:  Large Animal Field Day is set for May 8 at Emma Prusch Park.  10:00am to 4:00pm.  Planning committee (4-H & FFA) is currently recruiting sponsors for prizes.  Next planning committee meeting is Wednesday Feb. 18th upstairs in the old farmhouse at the park.  Some discussion about having the All Stars handle the prize drawings.  Also, Bob submitted a proposal to the Park Foundation to use some money to build a community center at the park.

Deborah:  Project Leader Training dates:
February 23rd is Resources to be utilized and March 23rd will be Building Assets in Youth.  Guest speaker Alex Go will be at the March training.

Shelby:  Presentation Day is set for February 21st at Westhope Church.  There are 43 applicants so far and we are set for Evaluators and Room Hosts.  The All Stars will handle the afternoon activity while the evaluators give the presentations their placing.   There is an Evaluators training Tuesday February 11th,   7:30pm at the fairgrounds.

MSC to pay a bill from Trudy Jones for Presentation Day expenses.

Shelby Jones reported on her Ski Project.  9 kids went on a weekend ski trip and had a great time playing and skiing.  Only one minor wrist injury to report.

4-H Summer Camp is scheduled for Sunday, July 11 through Thursday July 15th with staff coming up Saturday the 10th and staying until Friday the 16th.

For the Calendar:  Small Animal Field Day is May 1st  location to be announced
Fair Awards meeting February 24th

MSC to transfer funds from reserves to cover shortfall on various accounts

MSC to move $200.00 back to Large Animal account

Vicki:  Regarding the Petting Zoo at Fair:  We need to appoint a chairperson who will be responsible for locating and securing the animals, fencing and hand washing stations.  Lonnie said that she spoke to Eileen and one of her requirements would be that we have pony rides.  Vickie will talk to Eileen and verify all requirements and location of the petting zoo.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm
