Welcome to the Sheep Project

Past / Current Member

  • To participate in the Pleasant Acres Sheep project members must attend one mandatory meeting a month from the time their animal(s) is purchased.  The date and time of this meeting will determined by the leaders and members at the beginning of each season.  If the member is not able to attend this meeting, a responsible representative may attend in their place.  However, the member must notify the leader before the meeting that they will be unable to attend and who will be attending in their place.

  • Practice will be held typically on a bi-weekly basis.  Most practices will be held at Prusch Park on a date and time determined by the leaders and members at the beginning of each season.  Meetings may be held at other locations if deemed necessary by the leaders i.e. another location where member(s) house their animals.  Members are expected to attend a minimum one of these meetings per month.  If you will be unable to attend the meeting please notify the leader prior to the meeting of such conflicts.

  • Members are expected to care for their own animals daily.  This includes but is not limited to: feeding your animal, checking for clean and adequate water, providing clean and dry bedding, brushing and/or washing your animal to insure it is clean and showmanship practice.  Depending on where your animal is housed you may also need to provide additional areas for your animal to exercise.

  • Members are encouraged to purchase insurance for their animals in case of death.  The leaders will have information on where such insurance can be purchased and estimated costs.

  • Members choosing to house their animals at Prusch Park must follow all rules listed in their contract.  Additionally, space at Prusch Park is on a first come first serve basis. Members must turn in contracts for approval at least two weeks prior to their animals arriving at Prusch Park.  Please keep in mind if the rules are not followed at Prusch Park they reserve the right to ask you to leave their facilities and/or not allow you to house animals there in the future.

  • Members are encouraged to participate at jackpot shows.  However, these are not sanctioned 4-H events and a leader will not necessarily be present.
