The Evergreen 4-H Club is located in the Intermountain Area of Shasta County, California. The Evergreen 4-H Club has over 45 members. The following articles were submitted by Club members throughout the 2008 - 2009 year. EVERGREEN 4-H NEWS Submitted By Thomas Noel October 2008 Evergreen 4-H would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their generous support during the 2008 Intermountain Fair. We were definitely thrilled to have such a successful Junior Livestock Sale. Although our 4-H group seems to focus mainly on raising livestock projects for the fair, we also have other projects such as Foods & Nutrition, Fly Fishing, Health & Fitness, Photography, Computers and more. By completing these projects, we have gained knowledge, become more responsible and have created memories and friendships. We are always looking for leaders who are willing to share with us their hobbies and knowledge. We are pleased to let you know we are much ore than just a 4-H Club, we are also very community service oriented. We have participated in the Christ Light Parade, Century Bike Ride, Chocolate Festival, we serve at the Hospice, Masonic and CWA Dinners, we give Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets to families in need, we supported the troops in Iraq by sending a couple of boxes of goodies and if you can call it singing we sang Christmas Carols to the people at the hospital. Please let us know how we can get involved with your community event. We would like to thank the following persons for their support: John Fenn - our Foods & Nutrition Leader, Rick Neugebauer - for weighing our pigs; Paul and Darla Van Riet - our former swine leaders and our source for flowers for our flower border; our parents and leaders and Bob McFarlene and his crew at the fair. Good luck to the members who will be FFA members next year. Again, thank you to the community. We appreciate your support. We look forward to another great year! |
